Owners
When the opportunity arose to purchase Bistro Provence, the search for a small business that our whole family could grow with came to an end. Originally from Saskatoon, Ed & Marcella Povhe happily packed up 3 kids and headed to the foothills. The Bistro will be a new challenge for both now that all the children are in school full time. Ed knows what he likes, especially when food is involved. He has always dreamed of having a small restaurant, a place of his own. Marcella has many years experience in catering and food preparation.

With Nicolas our leader and French Chef extraordinaire having over 20 years of international culinary experience and Jill our ever patient guide, we are happily jumping in with both feet.

The Bistro has been a staple of fine French cuisine in Okotoks for over 30 years. The Povhe Family will continue the tradition of offering fine French food in a warm casual atmosphere.

Executive Chef
Nicolas Desinai, the Executive Chef at Bistro Provence hails from Brittany, France.

In the past 20 years Nicolas has gathered an impressive international resume in the art of food preparation. He was trained in France and has perfected his culinary skills in such places as the French Riviera, Switzerland, Thailand, Dubai and New York city. Nicolas has travelled the world, and has called Canada home since 1998.

He moved to Calgary in 2000 to work as Executive Chef at Priddis Green Golf Course.

We are proud to say, Nicolas has been the Executive Chef at Bistro Provence since 2005.

Head Server
The delightful Jill Jenkins started her career at the Ginger Tea Room here in Okotoks. When the Tea Room closed, Jill worked at the Bistro, formerly called La’ Petite Table under a previous owner. After two and a half years at Divine down the street, Jill is back with us, and always extends a warm welcome to her many friends and former customers. 

Our Vision
Our vision of Bistro Provence is for young and old to enter and enjoy a warm casual dining experience.

Relax and indulge yourself as you slow down and recharge your body with wonderful food and drink.

We showcase local and organic foods whenever possible and can easily adapt menu items to meet all special dietary needs. (Please contact us for more information.)

The dress code is casual and families of all ages are always welcome.
