This is my 14 year old daughter Ella. As much as I've tried, she doesn't like coffee. A rebel among rebels you could say. 😉 As a devoted tea drinker, she was upset to learn that her favorite brand of tea was closing shops. At first she thought I should branch out to sell teas. But I thought it would be even better if she did it herself. The idea took hold. With her own money and my coaching she is now ready to sell her own brand of teas alongside Rebel Bean coffee on the shelf at the Roastery. Please welcome Rebel Leaf Tea to the Okotoks small business community. Follow Rebel Leaf on Instagram and/or Facebook and if you're a tea drinker, stop in to the Roastery to buy a bag from the shelf. I am super proud of her and can't wait to see how her business journey unfolds.
Heads up that the Roastery is open today but will be closed next weekend. So now's your chance to pop in to pick up coffee, cold brew, raw local honey, or anything coffee related. We have a couple of new drip brewers in stock, Aeropresses, some Hario hand grinders, vacuum canisters, mugs etc. Plus we have Rebel Bean stickers now too!! Then head across the street to Elks Hall Farmer's Market, enjoy brunch at Sweetgrass Deli or go help Hubtown celebrate the first anniversary of their taproom opening! There is lots to do downtown and we're lucky to be in the thick of it!
Heads up if you sweeten your coffee and tea with a dollop of honey! We now have jars of the fine amber liquid in stock at the Roastery. We are proud to be the only retailer in Okotoks carrying Eastern Slopes Honey fresh from their hives located out near Millarville.
This is Carter. He would rather not be exploited on his mother's social media. But he would like some moola for his summer plans. So, if you would like to see his face, pop into the Roastery this and every Saturday all summer long. He'll be here from 11-3 which is the same time that the new market is happening across the road at Elk's Hall. Go check it out and then stop in for some fresh coffee, cold brew, or brewing doo-dads.
Many have noticed that, after 5 years, Rebel Bean gave up its spot at the Millarville Market. I figured it was time to take my summer Saturdays back. AND THEN...a new Farmer's Market has popped up right across the street from the Roastery at Elk's Hall Okotoks. It's running every Saturday from 11am to 3pm and the organizers didn't recruit a coffee vendor because of it's proximity to our shop. (Which was a very thoughtful, very Okotoks thing to do.) And so, starting tomorrow, we will be open from 11-3 every Saturday and you will be served by my teenaged son, Carter, who wants money more than he wants to spend Saturdays with his mom. In fact, if you walk in to buy a bag of coffee and I'm here, please tell me to go home. He's got this!
