I know you've all been waiting to find out who the new Rebel Bean will be....
Let me introduce you to Sara Noyes, who as of next week will be the new owner of Rebel Bean. Sara is well known in the Okotoks business community and for those who know her, you're already squealing with delight. But for anyone who doesn't know her yet, Sara has been a champion for local business and entrepreneurship in her last few roles and has the skill set, drive, and vision to take Rebel Bean to the next level. She is also someone who shares my passions for coffee, customer service, and community service and is the perfect leader for this company.
I am looking forward to seeing what she does with the business and what Rebel Bean will bring to her and her family. Please join me in welcoming her to the Rebel Gang. . . #okotoks #okotoksbusiness #okotokscoffee
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT It's been almost seven years since I started Rebel Bean and when I did, it was to create a job that would allow me the flexibility to live my life in balance. Thanks to an amazing community of supporters, combined with a lot of good luck and hard work, Rebel Bean has become more than I could have imagined.
However, there comes a time in the life of a company when it outgrows the abilities and intentions of its founder and needs a new leader to reach its full potential. Rebel Bean has reached that point.
I am happy to announce that beginning June 1, I will be stepping down and turning the company over to someone who I am excited to introduce soon. But today I'd like you to know that no part of me is sad about this transition. I'm proud of what I've created and I'm so grateful for the last seven years. I'm excited to see what's next for me and my family, for Rebel Bean, and for the new owner and her family.
I will still be in the Roastery daily for the next month or so, and will continue to be involved in smaller ways for the foreseeable future. I hope you will stop in so I can introduce the new owner to the names and masked faces of all the amazing coffee drinkers who helped make my goals a reality and who I know will continue to support Rebel Bean under new ownership.
Starting tomorrow, Okotoks will be part of the mask party. If you're coming to the Roastery, please mask up. Just a reminder that if you are unable to wear a mask or would just prefer to change your shopping habits, we are still offering home delivery on any online order in Okotoks, Calgary, or surrounding communities. Just visit our website at www.rebelbeancoffee.com
Our busy season is upon us and we need extra hands. But not just hands. We also need them to be attached to someone with a smiling face, a positive attitude, an ability to work independently, have good attention to detail, and a willingness to make great coffee for great people.
Rebel Bean is a small, family-run company and as such, every team member does a bit of everything. As an Assistant Rebel, the successful candidate will be trained to fill wholesale, retail, online and fundraising orders, handle product packaging, distribution, help with Roastery cleaning, and serve any customers who come into our retail space. The person in this position will also have the opportunity to learn the art and science of coffee roasting and, if demonstrating aptitude, will be trained as a back-up roaster.
Initially, this position is to help with an increase in production during the Christmas season but there is the possibility that it could evolve into a permanent position.
Part-time hours: 30 per week, daytime hours (not suitable for students) Compensation: $15.00 to $17.00 /hour
Please apply in person at the Roastery on Elizabeth Street in Okotoks.
